The PlayStation 5 is still going strong, but behind the scenes Sony has been working on its successor for years. Insiders report that the PlayStation 6 should hit shelves around 2028, with a chip once again co-developed with AMD.
What we expect from the hardware
The new console is said to focus heavily on ray tracing and AI upscaling, so games run in 4K at high frame rates. There are also whispers about a more powerful handheld that works seamlessly with the home console.
What this means for your credit
Good news: your PlayStation Network account, digital games and wallet funds will simply carry over to the new generation. PSN credit you buy today can be used on the PlayStation 6 later.
